Overview
FUT strip surgery can be performed without shaving the donor area in suitable cases.
For FUE, options include recipient-unshaven FUE, limited-shaven strips in the donor area, and fully unshaven FUE in carefully limited cases.
What matters in the plan
- Recipient-unshaven FUE shaves the donor area only.
- Limited-shaven FUE camouflages donor strips with overlying hair but restricts graft count.
- Fully unshaven FUE can increase transection and graft damage, so it should be limited and expert-led.
