Overview
Long hair transplant means transplanting grafts with a long hair shaft.
It differs from unshaven transplantation because harvested grafts still contain visible shaft length during placement.
The visible shafts can help judge density, angle, direction, and camouflage during early healing.
What matters in the plan
- The initial shafts usually fall away with the scabs before new hair grows later.
- FUT is often preferred for long-hair sessions because it preserves shaft length without shaving the donor zone.
- The procedure is labour intensive and session size is usually more conservative.
